Entomologic Collection

The entomological collection was begun in 1910. Its purpose is that of collecting, identifying and preparing insects from tropical and subtropical countries.

About 5,520 examples of tropical and subtropical insects, belong to 12 orders, are preserved in the entomological collection.

Recently the collection has been enriched with 1708 new examples found in Ecuador by Barbara Cecchini (March-April 1997). The insects are still in the process of being prepared and classified before joining the collection.
