The MSc in Natural Resources Management for Tropical Rural Development is a 2-year graduate program, which awards a Second Level Master Degree (MSc) according to the Italian higher education system: www.miur.it/guida/capitolo3.htm.
The program offers two curricula of study:
- Land and Water
- Agricultural Production
In both curricula student must earn a total of 120 academic credits (CFU). The first year is the same for both curricula.[table “” not found /]

In addition to lectures, the MSc program includes a number of seminars on selected topics, relevant to the management of natural resources as well as international cooperation. At the end of each course, students will be evaluated through a written and/or oral examination.
Classwork will be integrated by individual study and research, group presentations, laboratory tests and field visits to research centers, land reclamation authorities, national and international fairs of specific equipment and private agencies involved in water and land management.
Attendance to all credit awarding activities is mandatory, and it will be monitored regularly. In order to be eligible for the MSc Degree, students must attend at least 85% of all planned activities.
Academic activities will be held both at IAO Training Centre and at UNIFI – School of Agriculture headquarters. In the final part of second academic year, activities will mainly focus on the final thesis preparation.
